For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:6
Our eternal life with Christ is guaranteed because we are united in his powerful victory! Our life here today is also secure and certain as He walks with us daily through all our trials and troubles. He is Immanuel, “God with us” as we live and move and breathe here on earth as well as when we are “united with Christ Jesus” in heaven.
24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astounded and stood up in haste; he said to his high officials, “Was it not three men we cast bound into the midst of the fire?” They replied to the king, “Certainly, O king.” 25 He said, “Look! I see four men loosed and walking about in the midst of the fire without harm, and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods!” Daniel 3:24-25
Students are not above their teacher, but all who are fully trained will be like their teacher. (Luke 6:40)
One reason why modeling is so important in the making of disciples is, as every parent can tell you, disciples—like children—become who you are and not what you teach them to be. The old saying is true: things are easier caught than taught.
| This month we had the pleasure of hosting groups who were truly blessed by coming to camp. Campers shared comments like: “I have grown closer to God & realized (through walking in the woods), that He really cares, & provides for all of His creations” and “It made me appreciate nature more & thank God for it. It especially made me feel closer to God.” Being quiet, being in nature, and being in an undistracted environment is unique for many who attend Idyllwild Pines Camp. Indeed it is refreshing and inspiring to know lives are impacted as a result of this special place.
