Camp Update from Martha

Yesterday I had the privilege of speaking at the American Camp Association Annual meeting for Southern California and Hawaii. Jaime English and I shared with the group the importance of creating a master plan for camps, and the “how to” process of master plan creation. Jaime, worked with Idyllwild Pines Camp on our master plan which was finalized last October. Not planning at all reminds me of the Cheshire Cat in ‘Alice in Wonderland’ (a story by Lewis Carroll), when he said; “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will get you there” – now that’s one smart cat!

Verse of the Day – 2 Timothy 2:2

And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. (2 Tim 2:2)

Even though the apostle Paul was not one of the Twelve original disciples of Jesus, he knew how to make disciples using the ingredients of the Master. His methodology of choosing, modeling, training, teaching, and commissioning perfectly imitated the Master.
